Bella's of March Swap

This bookwormabella is for my Bella's of March swap. I reallly love the colors and the American Crafts ribbon that I used. Smile stamp is from CTM and the Dp is Basic Grey with textured cardstock from DCWV. I have been seeing the most beautiful textured cardstock used for cards in my swaps that is a sparkly metallic in all sorts of colors. I am guessing it is DCWV, I need to do a little investigating online because I know our little Ben Franklin doesn't get all the DCWV Mat stacks that are out there.
I have two more sets of cards I am working on for this swap, possibly a fourth in case I need to fill a spot.

Cards for Grandma

This card is one of a bunch I am working on for my Grandma. While my grandparents and great aunts all have email, they still prefer written correspondence. What better way to inspire this ancient art than beautiful bella cards?! My fellow bella sistah Norricia sent me causeabella images, and I thought they were perfect for making my grandmother cards, since she recently survived breast cancer. I made only four of these, and I am working on others to add. I have too extra card bases, and think I will use grumpabella. Then I am altering a candy box my bella sistah Sandie Larson gave me to make a card holder. I will post when I finish. I sure hope my grandmother is surprised and enjoys these cards.
I used CTMH Chocolate and white daisy. The Chocolate cardstock is embossed with a sizzix texture plate, and sanded with sp from my CTMH distressing kit. The DP is either wild asparagus or My mind's Eye. I bought a giant paper pack with a mix of both last year at Costco. I sure hope they have another one this summer. It was 300 pieces of dp for $11.00, can't beat that with a stick.

This Rockabella card opens to say "rock your birthday". I made it for Leanne's Swap and sent them out about a week ago. I hope she gets them and that they are good enough. I start seeing everyone else's cards in these swaps and get a little self concious. I guess that is why I do them, though. It forces me to try new sketches and come up with ideas and seeing everyone elses work gives me ideas to try. I really love this paper, it came from DCWV Rockstar mat stack. The oversized brads are from Making Memories, and of course Rocakabell is from Stampingbella.

Valentine's

Valentine's Swap with group #2 at the top , and group #1 on the bottom. The second photo is my card for the second group. K & Co. paper, flowahbella, CTMH sentiment and hardware, ribbon from American Crafts. The green card was for the BA homepage contest, not the greatest, I was in a hurry, but I love the huggybella stamp and the shamrock patterned paper from provocraft.

Cards, Cards, and more Cards

I got saavyshopabella for myself for Christmas and my bella sistah, Sandie, sent me this rockabell stamp and sentiment. I love both of these stamps and have had a great time playing with them. The first card I made for my sis, Kiki, for New Years. It isn't the greatest photo, and I know it is hard to see, but the sentiment I printed off the computer says "What Resolutions?!". I used the best friends kit from CTMH, and paper pieced her shirt. I used liquid glass to give her boots the look of patent leather, and my crystal blue CTMH ink pen for her pants and headband. I put some stickles in her hair for some odd reason, and don't really like how it looks. I mean really, who has glittery hair?! Won't do that again, lol.
The next two cards were also for family, and I can't recall where any of these supplies come from, save for the pink polka dot ribbon from American Crafts.

Been Awhile...

It has been awhile since I have posted any artwork and I have been up to so much, craftwise and lifewise. Although I have to say that I haven't had as much crafting time as I'd like, now that Alice has four therapy appointments a week. I 've been wracking up the car mileage driving to a and fro, and had forgotton how much gas costs. I had quite a bit of sticker shock at the pump, can you believe it is just uner $4.00/ gal here?!!! This could seriously cut into my supply fund, lol. Here are some cards that I have done this past month for swaps. I am hosting a swap monthly on the Bellaholics anonymous group and with the excpetion of a few minor mishaps it has gone really well. It pushes me to come up with new ideas, try new sketches, and keeps me active in the group. The first image is cupcakebella, from Stampingbella, my all time favorite Stamp Company. You Rock, Em!!! The paper is from Heidi Grace, heart shaped brads from MM, and ribbon from walmart ;) I made this for group #1 in my last months Valentine's swap and I like how it turned out. I used a sketch that I found on SCS.
The second card is one I made for my lovely Bella sistah, Sandie Larson. She is such a sweet gal, and super creative. You should check out her work on her blog, hotpepperzmom.blogspot.com.
She did the most amazing card with cosmobella for the yellow group in the BA colors of the rainbow swap, hosted by Ami Cook.
I used paper from the DCWV "Pockets full of Posies" stack, and some random cardstock from my stash. I think it is from paperbilities. The image is flowahbella with matching sentiment, both from stampinbella. Ribbon also from Wallyworld. I like how it turned out, the colors are nice and soft. This sketch from SCS is one I have used a lot lately. I'd really like to use it for a future make and take. I need to think something up using my CTMH stamps.
